You can keep all your chars in rows pane without any KFs in columns. Use "Key date" in your Query definition to pick up Time-Dependent Master Data. But prev and current data cannot be seen in single report as Key date works only with Single date at a time.
So create two queries.
You may combine both reports in a workbook.
