In my naive understanding I too thought UFT-8 was the one to use, but when I change to ISO-8859-1 the DW loads the data OK (in the IDE). I have yet to get it to work in a deployed environment.
With regard to regional settings we are UK English and I expect our customers to be the same.... for now. I can see that I need to tread carefully on this one before making any changes as the ramifications could be further reaching. I was hoping for a quick fix on this specific DW load but that is looking less likely.
We will do some further testing here to see what the story really is and get back to you....
