Hi Andreas,
Since this is Sage you should be logging a case with them to resolve the issues.
I had an open Case with them on an issue with Terminal Server and printers using the "EasyPrint" ( redirect 2 ) as seen in the Devices - Printers.
The issue is the EasyPrint service causes a 5 minute delay due to some change MS did to the TS service and the Printer Spooler process.
The work around is to install the printer on both the TS Server as well as the local Work station running the app. When printing select the local printer and not the Redirect 2 version. For hosted software this is impossible to due due to the number of printers that would be required to be installed.
So if you are standalone install the printers....
I know this sounds funny but CR is hardware and software dependent so it needs a printer to be able to format the page, if the printer is not local then it goes through the EasyPrint service which introduces about a 5 minute delay passing the driver info from the Server to the local PC and back again.
Possibly if you want to see what is happening watch the Printer Spooler you may see it consuming the CPU as well.
MS and Sage were working on this issue but once I showed them it was not a CR issue my case was closed and MS and Sage worked on the problem. Last I heard there was some improvement but no update for a year now so not sure where they got with it...
So the reason CR appears to be "Busy" is because CR is "waiting" for some process to complete before it can start processing again, that wait is what consumes the CPU, it's waiting to get printer info from the Easy Printer process.
So I believe the work around is to install the printers locally and on the Terminal Service and share them for all users.

PS - I KBA'd this also but due to changes in our Search engine you won't be able to find it.
But this link may work for you, if you have a Support Contract.
