Text discrepancy from 4.6c to ECC6

Hello Experts,

We are in the process of upgrading from 4.6c to ECC6. There is a Note 900607 which says that before upgrade we need to run the report RVTEXTE to clean up inconsistencies in text customizing due to new tcode VOTXN.

Do we need to check if there are any inconsistencies in the system or we can directly execute the report RVTEXTE before upgrade? My doubt is that if existing inconsistencies are cleaned up does it have any other impact or is it good practice to directly clean up the inconsistencies?
