There is no purpose of re-hiring a person if he/she is not terminated. You can re-hire a person only if the person has been terminated.  There also needs to be a gap of at least one day between the two actions.

If you want to re-assign the person to another position, then you need another action which you can call "Change org assignment".  In this you need to include IT 1, 7, 8 and any other infotypes as required.

 

You may have other types of action like higher duty assignment (with IT 509) - to a position which needs to be covered because of the incumbent's leave, sickness, etc.   This type of assignment is common in countries like Australia, India, and others.  In this case, the IT 509 would include the other position id, any w/t's details for remuneration, etc.  For the duration of this HDA, the person will have the pay results posted to the HDA position's Cost Center.

 

I'd suggest discussing the requirements from the HR or Payroll SME, so that you may understand their scenario/s.
