Gordon, and Javier suggestions  are right for creating project codes. Clients may also demand for additional requirements such "No posting should possible to respective Revenue and Expense accounts except with project assignment either in JE, Invoice creation or any other means that will commit to the GL account".

1. The first thing to do is to specify how to post journal entry line with project when G/L account is set up for cost accounting. From your SBo window go to Administration> System Initialization > General Settings > then Cost Accounting Tab. 2. Now go to such GL Account that must be assigned to a project before commitment and select the check box behind project under cost accounting on the chart of account window. Refer to following link under project before distribution rule for better understanding;
