Both reports shown header level data only not line item level data.
Note:
- Sales register provides the details at header level of the
documents which are created for a Sales cycle- Sales order,
delivery document and billing and outbound excise invoice.
- Purchase register provides the details at header level of the
documents which are created for a Purchase cycle- Purchase
order, material document and invoice and inbound excise
invoice.

That SAP given one BADi to add any new fields based on customer requirement. As per my understanding with above note ,which is not at all suitable for indian requirement. I hope SAP will release new note soon for this ( Existing note has been inactive mode )
