In Short :
HR Renewal is a bundle of business functions which deliver new user enhancements to SAP HCM. It is not a new solution or product in itself. The main areas of focus for these enhancements are in ESS-MSS, HR-Admin, PA, OM areas.
HR Renewals 1.0 has gone through 4 feature pack releases( One for each quarter I believe )
and now HR Renewals 2.0 is released with added functionality.
