When I log in as user with Admin priviliges, I see that the Launch pad "Preferences" are set to Use "HTML" mode for viewing as well as Edit/Modify options. So there is no issue.
But when I log in as an end user with no WEBI application access in portal, I dont even see the "Preferences" link in Launch pad. Is there a setting that is preventing me to see the 'preferences' link in the header panel of end user?
if I can see the "Preferences" link, then as you mentioned, I could try to change the settings for View and Edit to 'HTML" mode rather than "Download applet" mode which is probably the root cause of my problem here.
